Method 1: Apply for Annapurna Bhandar online

Official portal: Annapurna Bhandar portal (official link to be confirmed)

Step 1: Register with your mobile number

Open the official portal (the address must end in .gov.in) and register using your mobile number and OTP. If you are not sure how, follow our portal login guide.

Step 2: Open the Annapurna Bhandar application

After logging in, look for the Annapurna Bhandar scheme or “New application” on your dashboard. Some reports say applications are linked to a family data / social registry form, where you enter details of all family members first. Follow the order the portal shows.

Step 3: Fill in personal details

Enter your name, date of birth, gender, father’s/husband’s name and address exactly as written in your Aadhaar card. Even a small spelling difference can cause verification trouble later.

Step 4: Fill in bank details

Enter your own bank account number and IFSC code. The account must be in the applicant’s own name, active, and preferably linked (seeded) with Aadhaar for DBT. A joint account or someone else’s account usually causes rejection. Read payment status and DBT for how to check seeding.

Step 5: Upload documents

Upload clear photos or scans of the documents asked for. Keep each file within the size limit shown on the portal. Our documents page explains photo and signature size rules.

Step 6: Preview and submit

Check every field on the preview screen. Correct mistakes before submitting, because editing later is not always possible. Tick the declaration and tap Submit.

Step 7: Save the acknowledgement

Download the acknowledgement or take a screenshot showing your application ID. You will need it to check your status.

Method 2: Apply for Annapurna Bhandar offline

Many women prefer to apply with help from officials. To apply offline:

  1. Get the genuine paper form free of cost from a government camp, your BDO office or municipality/ward office. See our form PDF guide for details.
  2. Fill it in with a blue or black pen, in capital letters, matching your Aadhaar.
  3. Attach self-attested photocopies of the required documents and paste a recent photograph.
  4. Submit the form at the camp/office counter.
  5. Ask for an acknowledgement slip with a number and keep it safe.

Common mistakes that cause rejection

  • Name or date of birth different from Aadhaar
  • Bank account not in the applicant’s name, closed or not Aadhaar-seeded
  • Wrong IFSC code
  • Blurry or cut-off document photos
  • Applying twice (once online and once offline)
  • Mobile number that belongs to an agent or is no longer used
  • Applicant not meeting the age or residence rule

After you apply

  • Check your status every few weeks on the official portal. See status check.
  • Make sure your bank account stays active and linked to Aadhaar.
  • Keep your phone on: officials may call or visit for verification.
  • Once approved, see the payment date page to know when money is expected.
